Policy Brief: Bridges Across the P-16 Continuum

Prof. Pamela EddyPamela Eddy, associate professor of higher education, and her co-author, Marilyn Amey, professor at Michigan State University, recently wrote a policy brief on the role of partnerships in education.  Policy makers increasingly advocate for partnerships among schools, universities, and business to save resources and create efficiencies, yet many partnerships fail or are not sustainable.  The research reported in the brief highlights a framework for partnerships to help avoid these outcomes and outlines elements of support to make the collaborations longer lasting.

The brief includes case examples to illustrate some of the main points of the framework and includes a section that reviews implications for policy makers.  You may find a copy of the full brief here.  Eddy and Amey are currently writing a book titled Leading Strategic Educational Partnerships for Stylus Press.  The release of this book is scheduled for December 2012.
